Still working!

        Been a bit since I last posted, but it's not because I haven't been working! The reason is, I've decided to take a break from the building project. I felt that I reached a good milestone with the finished pathway. There is definitely more work to do, but a break will be good to keep me from getting sick of it. So in the mean time I'll be starting a new character. At the moment I have a few ideas of what to do with her. One of which is to revisit my first character, a post-apocalyptic survivor. I do have other ideas of how to use the character, but I think I'll do the revisit first. It definitely won't be the same design improved but a complete rethinking of the character, setting and overall design. This character is important to me so having a well made representation of that is something I can't ignore.

        With this revisit I plan to do things that I've previously avoided do the challenge, but now with more experience I believe I can meet these challenges and do moderately well (at least). What did I avoid? Notice how the arms, legs and top of the head are covered in each character. Proper anatomy and hairlines/parts are hard and take practice, so with this character I've chosen to show some arm and have no hat. It's time to man up and take some risks and learn some more!

        I'm not ready to show much of the progress on the body yet. I've chosen to create the base model from scratch (I'll explain what that means later) so it will be a bit until that is ready to be shown, I hope to have it done before Christmas.

        Otherwise enjoy this ear I made! The program it is shown in is called Zbrush. A great program for sculpting finer details without having to worry about the poly count. What is shown is how the sculpting progress happens. You start with a really basic, low-poly mesh, then adjust it, divide it (doubling the poly-count), adjust it, divide it, and so on. I was pleasantly surprised how well it turned out. It was another one of those things I avoided (hair always covered it).
